Re: Surprised
Well the load we got out to cali was 2000lbs surprisingly and they are actually going to get me back to Ohio we already have been dispatched on a load picking up Monday
Going to get back to see Rodney Carrington... he's playin in our home town..... I'm really glad we did not end up having to sit for more than the weekend you really can't kick on that

Re: Surprised
Yes we ended up getting a load that doesn't pick up till tomorrow morning in Savannah. But we did find out we should have been offered that load you had to Cali. The dispatcher didn't look at the weight of it only the unit size. So typical for us.

Re: Surprised
I don't know if you know or not but the run was a elite run... needed the pads and straps kingof thing..... can't really say anything else about the load but what do you do?
and just wondering how where you to be offered the load we got to Cali when we where first out on the board at the time?Last edited by Kyle06; 02-07-2010 at 03:41 PM.

Re: Surprised
Alot of things come into play when Panther dishes out loads. And yes being closest to the load really helps. And yes there are alot of variables to who gets the load. So getting upset at seeing a truck get a load ahead of you don't do any good. It's not the driver's fault for them getting a load. Could of been an elite load, or a liftgate load, or even requires the use of special equipment that you dont have in your truck. I know it's agravating especially when you pay for the fuel, because relocating really isnt much of an option. That is the major reason why I won't work for an owner where I pay the fuel. Panther leaves alot of drivers in areas where they have to DH to get to a better board. Plus the months of Jan and Feb are usually slow. So if you pay your own fuel, try to stay out of areas that you will have problems getting out of.

Re: Surprised
We are a TVAL Elite truck with all the equipment. We were first out on the Jacksonville board and had more dwell time than you did. I know it's not your fault but we did find out from the upper ups we should have been offered it. We have been getting skipped quite a bit lately and they saw that first hand now. Thanks

Re: Surprised
Panther does not leave their drivers anywhere..the driver made the choice to take the run for whatever reason they did, so it is not Panthers responsibility to move them anywhere...that should have been settled before accepting the load....THAT is the reason drivers should have to pay for their own fuel...not really fair to the owner for the driver to take unprofitable loads into bad areas and then pay to move them out..but I guess that is the difference between owners and drivers.
sorry it happens all the time..nothing to do about it now...glad everyone got moving.Patrick House

Re: Surprised
Well here we are now on the Tampa board. We dropped our load this morning, and havent even moved 1 spot on the board. Not sure if we should stay here or head towards Orlando. Maybe go to Disney World since we'll probably be here for a few days (laughin). And yes it seems that people get skipped over lately, but I think it's just loads are few and far between right now. I hope we don't get stuck here to long. Be safe out there everyone.

Re: Surprised
well, lets see. im solo owner, got a load that canceled on me this morning.
so im first out in Atlanta rite, wrong, a team got a first out 2 hours after mine, they put them ahead of me, and then they disappeared from the board about two hours later. another solo got a first out behind me, and that one is gone too. is my acceptance rating the best, no. is my time in service the best, probably not. will i get a load sooner or later. you bet. will i be tired when it comes, probably. but then trucking ain't for sissies.panther II
