11 weeks progress report

For the past 11 weeks I have been expediting freight and have averaged about 1000 miles a week. The best was 1500 and this week was the worst (400). I also know the company I'm leased on with has hired more than 65 cargo vans in the past 11 weeks.
I am a newbie and actually really enjoy this new lifestyle, just wish I could cut down on the deadhead. (usually same amount as paid)

I have learned to pass on some of the mini's and have turned down only 3 loads and have remained in service for over 93% of the time.
This week only getting 400 miles has started to make me worry. I know it goes up and down but I was not expecting this far down.
Just hope to get a nice 2500 to 3000 mile week soon.
How is everyone else doing?

Be happy with what you got, but always have plan B in the folder in case your boss says he's parking it. I am getting parked due to lack of business and was totally unprepared for it, after all business reports were saying that we are getting better and enjoying a post 9-11 surge in business. oh yeah I logged in 352 mi last week/ half was deadhead.:(
