Whats the difference between an Expedited load and an Hot Shot load ?

[font size="1" color="#FF0000"]LAST EDITED ON Oct-30-00 AT 11:52PM (EDT)[/font][p]As i understand it, the Hot Shots are usually 24 - 48 foot flatbed trailers pulled by a pickup truck or light duty tractor -- the one's we've all seen are the car haulers. i'm not real sure about the time sensitivity of the freight hauled by these vehicles.

An Expedited Load is usually something (and can be, literally, ANYTHING) hauled in a pickup truck (A Unit), van (B Unit), straight truck with a 12 - 16 foot box (C Unit), straight truck with a 20 - 24 foot box (D unit) or a regular big rig with 48 - 53 foot trailer (E Unit). Expedited loads are "Just In Time" freight, which means the load needed to be delivered YESTERDAY, but will actually get there as soon as possible.
