    Enjoy this Wimpy007

Hi Wimpy007, I am posting this in this forum so I don't get yelled at for posting it where "no one else would be interested" I get yelled at a lot in here!!! LOL!!!!

As you, and every other prior military person knows, military heraldry is some of the finest examples of military art work to be found. The colors and symbols found on the patches and crests not only represent the unit but often give "clues" to it's mission or history.

Some of the best examples are found in "unofficial" heraldry. These were patches often designed by individuals or small groups within a unit that depicted their view of their life. They were alway more personal, irreverant and funny!!

I have attached a picture of a patch that several members of "Trick III" and my self designed and had made while stationed in Misawa, Japan. While the photo is not the best you can clearly see what it is about.

As you can see there are many take offs on old themes, like the "Lighting Fast Chicken ......s" I really like the headsets that are blinding the chicken and the morse code "V" that is chasing it!!

I don't recall you MOS but if you an old "bear hunter", like I was, you will no doubt know the "other" meaning for those 3 "X's" in the liquor bottle. If you were a ditty bop you will know why that "V" is so important. If you don't know or can't recall send me a PM and I will go more into it for you.

My friends and I spent a lot of time working on this and large amounts of beer were consumed during the process, not doubt adding to both the time it took AND the irreverence!!!

    Enjoy!!!

The lesser of two evils is still evil but less evil is preferred to more evil if those are the only two viable options.

Very good Leo!! That was put in by a guy that lived for double cheeseburgers!! He was in withdrawal the entire 18 months that we were in Japan!!! My two contributions were the feathers that are flying loose after the "lighting strike" and the "X's"

Top notch, field assignments were much more interesting than HQ ASA so MUCH bull s***. My son was assigned to Misawa, old age keeps me from remembering the dates, I'll check and let you know. My assignment were short terms and then off I would go.
