A phishing tale
Most of us at one time or another have received scam email from con artists. One of the most famous and still going strong forms of the scam is th Nigerian 419 scam. That`s the one where somebody in Afirca sends you an email offering to share a huge amount of money that was left in some bank somewhere. The scammer usually writes that his father, or mother, or husband was a high official in some obscure African country, and was assassinated and the money has to be spirited out of the country, and they ask you the scamee to help them, and therefore share in all the money. I still get them once in awhile, and I seem to get them more often if my email address has appeared in a public place like Craigs List. There is a legitimate police taskforce out there that deals with the Nigerian 419 scam. If you want a really good laugh you should read this. this link is the story about a guy that did something about this particular scam, and as far as i know, he is still doing it. It is long, but very funny. It could be made into a movie:
