The Track Stop in Circleville, Ohio

If anyone happens to be laying over South of Columbus, there is a little truck stop called The Track Stop on 23 South at Circleville that is worth checking out. It is just South of 84 Lumber, and about 1 mile North of the Circleville exit at Rte 22. Or, about 3 miles North of the Pilot if you know where that is.

It is a Sunoco branded stop, and is named for the fact a go-kart track is on the property. The truck stop side is small, with basic amenities, but they do have CAT scales on property.

The best part of the place is a real, honest to goodness, locally owned restaurant called Grammy's Diner, that is decorated 50's style, with 'Cruising' music playing all the time! The walls are covered with pics of local Hot Rods, and old album covers, posters, 50's era memorabilia, etc.

The food is fixed to order, so it can take a little while to get it, but the service is good, and the food is excellent! They have decent prices, and good portions, and free refills on drinks. They also usually have a daily special such as Perch dinner, meatloaf, open faced roast beef or turkey with potatos, etc.. (usually about $6.99 or so)

NO STALE BUFFET HERE! You can sit at the tables, or at a counter that will make you think you're back in the 50's!

Met Leo there for lunch one day, and the family and I have stopped several times. You don't want to try sleeping there on a weekend day due to the races, but it's great place to stop and eat if you're coming thru on 23. You can always go sleep at the Pilot, or Super Walmart a couple miles on down.

The restaurant is open 6 am to 9 pm I beleive.

No, I'm not involved with them in anyway, I just like steering business towards a real, locally owned restaurant!

It is definitely good food at a good price. I had the roast beef and mashed potatoes and look forward to going back for seconds.
