I don't send and receive actual faxes, but having a scanner and sending email attachments works well.

We don't have a fax machine, we have a scanner that will scan to PDF format, and a printer. What I do, if I receive a fax through MyFax, I just print it with my printer. If I need to fax something to someone, I scan it, save to PDF file and attach it to an email. The email would be addressed to the persons fax number like this (1-123-123-1234@myfax.com) and it will go to that persons fax machine.

Efax is pretty good. I have an HP multi function printer with a scanner and a document feeder. I scan the pages in and the efax software will open the image files and fax them. Incoming faxes come into your email inbox and the efax software will open the attachments.

We used E-Fax until I discovered MyFax was cheaper and used just your email.

I like some of the features the efax software has. You can scan in an image of your signature and attach that to documents, which is handy with signing rate agreements.

Re: Fax from in the truck

Ok I even though i am charged each month for TransGo, I hate it and don't use it. i fax all my bills in avg 5 buck for 3 pages....its a writeoff...but...so a small printer/scanner and an email fax service is all it takes...hmmmm...

Ok so the e-mail is sent to a fax machine as an attachment and it prints out on the recieving fax?? or do they have to open the e-mail and then print the attachment?

Other thn learning how to do it, my other issue is finding SPACE for the printer/scanner.....one can only get soo much "stuff" in a CV....

Jeanie do you E-mail your BOL's to Bolt??? Guess i'll have to call the office on monday and see if this will work for them...

With efax your document is converted to their format and loaded to a server and then faxed from there. At the receiving end it just goes straight to their fax machine and prints like any other incoming fax, but it will have a cover sheet with your name and fax number on it. A small multi function printer doesn't really take up much space. I have this one.

It is an all automated. When the email comes in, the PDF is opened and 'printed' into another file, the email contents is parsed out of the email and used as a cover letter with the PDF contents as the following pages. No one sees it, and it isn't even a "fax machine" but a modem used as a fax.
