    Re: Fourth of july

Flattop you are right to a degree, yes the 4th is to celebrate our freedoms, but that goes straight back to what the orginal intent was, the celebration of the "Declaration of Independence".. It was actually going to be on the 2st of july but because of a delay it ended up on the 4th.

We have been losing our freedoms for more then a few yrs now, but this adminatration as taken that to a new level and speed with the trashing of both the Declaration and the Constitution. No i won't celebrate what we have left, as that is simply giving the impression that some is better then none and that just isn't how i think...as for the Tea Paties, If i am in a town where there is one, i just might make that visit, if i am at home, i will most definitely be at one, thank you for the reminder....and believe me, i speak to more then 2 people a "DAY" about what is happening in our country...the sad part is most have no idea...but they know simon was offered a hugh new contract to come back to Am Idol............

    Re: Fourth of july

yea i take the Declaration of Independence and the Constitution and the loss of our rights just a bit more important then celebrating and feeling good about what we still have left that the government has allowed...so far...Yea i guess my priorities aren't what somes are. While i have no problem with anyone else doing and celebrating as they wish, i personally have serious issues with this current government and what they are doing to the people....with that in mind i won't celebrite a day that our founders set aside to celebrate our independence when this government is doing all it can to make us "dependent" on them....sorry not me....

And with that i m done, it wasn't my desire to hijack the thread, as i said in my 1st post...

I don't care what anyone's political views are; whether or not you've been in the military; whether or not you believe in or support what July 4th stands for; or what expedite company you drive for.........ANYONE who is in/near my area Saturday is more than welcome to come join us for a BBQ, fishing for trout & catfish in our pond, & just relax & have a good time.

Got a load to Indiana and one picking up tonite going to Saline MI (about 35 miles from home). Then Saturday and Sunday both my brothers and my 2 Sisters, my Mom and numerous nephews and nieces and brothers and sisters in laws probably about 25 of us will be enjoying each others company at my sisters lakehouse near Reading, MI.

It's going to be a good time we havent had the whole gang together since Christmas. Kathy and I are bringing "Hot Potatoes" If you've never made them they are fantastic.

Sliced Potatoes, onions, various colored bell peppers lots of hot sauce with melted butter mix it all up. Cover and bake till potatoes are soft, scoop out a portion and top with a dollup of sour cream- amazing.

WingNut I'd be there but just got the Truck into the shop Today and they say it will be a couple of weeks before it is ready. On the other hand it will be the First time I have been Home in Three Years. Have fun and a Great 4th.
