Re: what is this news about fat drivers
Well, if you add bent over and limping to that, you would take out another 40% of drivers. That only leaves 10% to carry the nations freight. Just a thought!

Re: what is this news about fat drivers
The medical board that governs us is trying to get written into law that a bmi be taken and everyone with a bmi over 30 would need a dot physical yearly because people with a bmi higher than 30 are prone to more medical problems there is a great series of articles about this on Owner-Operator Independent Drivers Association, Truck Insurance, Hot Issues, Educational Tools web site. It isn’t the rule yet ooida medical guy is trying to get on that board as he explains in the article that those that are on the board now don’t deal with truckers on a regular basis and because of that they do not truly understand the medical problems of truckers. They are proposing several new medical changes if they are adopted it will be costly to all of us. If you have 1 to 2 risk factors you will need a dot physical every year 3 problems and you will need one twice a year 4 and you lose your license. All the time pointing out that none of the new “medical problems” have any stats to prove that we are dangerous because of them. Oh and I almost forgot the dr’s on the current board just happen to specialize in the fields that they want to use to make us have to take more physicals. Which will mean in more work for them which is another thing that ooida’s dr pointed out you owe it to yourself to read the articles.
