Re: Detention Time
"Thay send to him message that he will get pay a detetion but today no."
What does that mean, exactly? Did they send him a QC message saying he'd be paid detention, and then today send him another one that said he won't be paid detention?
In any case,m he should be paid 9 hours detention, and then two days Layover Pay. It'll be paid out at settlement time, two weeks from this coming Friday.
Get it over the QC what he should be getting paid. Personally, I think it should be about 50 hours of straight detention, but what it is supposed to be is 9 hours, and then after than it gets rolled over to Layover Pay for two days. Don't let them try to pay 9 hours in lieu of Layover for the first day, as he incurred both the 9 hours and the Layover for the first day, plus Layover for the second day. If need be, call and talk to your team leader.

Re: Detention Time
If it were me, I wouldn't deliver the load until I got a QC confirmation about the detention and Layover Pay. If you don't get it confirmed over the QC, 2 or 3 weeks from now no one will remember it, and they'll say it wasn't noted in the Pro so there's nothing they can do. You'll eventually get it, but it might take a month or two. Get it confirmed over the QC. If it's on the QC it happened, if it's not on the QC it didn't happen. Get it straightened out now, right now, this minute, get on the phone right now, and don't wait until 2 weeks from Friday and find out that they didn't pay the detention and then have to get an addendum done a week or two later. Make sure it gets noted on the PRO Bill about detention, as well.
But get it taken care of, get it confirmed, now. Before that load delivers, while he's STILL on the PRO, not after he delivers and is no longer on the PRO. The split second that he delivers this load, everyone in Seville will forget everything they ever heard about the load, including detention.

Re: Detention Time
I would agree with Turtle. Always get it over the QC.
Based on some of your recent questions, you would be well served to have a current drivers manual. Won't cover everything, but it will cover at least the majority of items.
That will cut your call times down significantly.
One thing for certain, this isn't a business to be naive in.fleet owner

Re: Detention Time
Once he delivers, well, one thing is, if he's not on a PRO then when he calls in he can't get to Dispatch, because "Not-On-PRO" telephone calls get routed to Driver Relations, instead of Dispatch, and Driver Relations will not know anything at all about the PRO he was on. Sooooo, Driver Relations will have to talk with Dispatch, Customer Service, maybe even the shipper and broker, do the research on it, and get back with you on it. Don't hold your breath for that phone call, because once the load delivers no one in Dispatch has the time to mess with a load that's already been delivered. They don't want to deal with it, they have more pressing issues to deal with. Sometimes this type of basic research can take days, when it can be handled in minutes if you handle it at the time, BEFORE you deliver. Hold their feet to the fire, make them settle it right now. It's not like they are trying to rip you off, it's just that once it's delivered the load, and anything to do with it, no longer matters. It's delivered, it's done, let's move on to the next load.
I've handled things via the internet, through the e-mail your team leader thing, and in e-mailing my team leader directly from my e-mail client, and even when things LOOK like they are cleared up in an e-mail or on the Web site, it might not be. What happens more often than not is, it's supposed to be taken care of, then the settlement time comes and it's not there. Then you've got to do it all over again and they'll see where it was taken care of, and then they will eventually do the addendum on it. This can take another week or two. Before you know it, 4, 5 6 weeks, or more, has gone by before you get paid for it. Handled it before you deliver, and get it confirmed over the QC, and it'll be paid in 2 weeks along with the settlement. Hold their feet to the fire, make them confirm it over the QC. Right now, WHEN it happens, not later.

Turtle said.."What happens more often than not is, it's supposed to be taken care of, then the settlement time comes and it's not there."
Don't you guys have fleetvision thru GPS Tech? That way YOU can see when a load gets credited to you?

Re: Detention Time
We don't have fleetvision, GPS or Tech. hehe
On the Web site we can see the load, when it was credited, but online it only shows the line haul, not any additional pay like detention. You will never know if it's gonna be on the settlement until the settlement is done. If it's not, then you have to climb the long hill of correction, and by that time no one but you remembers a thing about the load. If it was noted in the PRO at the time of the problem, it would have been paid out at settlement, and if it's not noted in the PRO, 2 or 3 weeks later no one who researches it will know a thing about it. It's your word against the memory of no one who can remember. That's why it needs to be confirmed, right now, when it happens, over the QC.

Re: Detention Time
OK, I sent this once and it's nowhere to be found so here goes again. He needs to write on the white copy of the pro bill so it goes through all copies, at the far right side in the other charges column, 9 hours detention and 2 days layover so it's on there when Panther gets the paperwork.
