There was a long well written post from a husband and wife team regarding the expierence driving a Company Truck (fuel tanks leaked at 3/4 full etc.) Something on there offensive or can I just not find it?

Re: Where did it go?
Broom,
It was removed for the reason below. I have invited them to repost their dispute after participating in the forum on other issues first.
6. Drive by posting (DBP) is prohibited.
A drive by posting (DBP)is when a new or newer member who has a personal issue or dispute with a carrier, dealer, manufacturer, fleet owner, fleet driver or any other entity and makes their first post as a negative attack or public scathing. Posts of this nature are disruptive and serve no purpose and subject to immediate removal. New members are required to have a minimum of ten (10) posts before they can make a controversial post on any topic.

Re: Where did it go?
[OK I understand.
But it was a great post giving their side. Like I stated if it is the company I think it was it just did not sound like there equipment but the company I am thinking of was is out of M.O. and I did not think they had those old of trucks.
Another great example though of newbee beware, do your homework and my own believe on and they did a great job on proving my point. YOU ARE MUCH BETTER OFF doing this on your own and being in Control of your own FUTURE and not sharing your future with someone elses dream of what the future is.
Save enough capitol, study this site, make a plan to succeed and watch what grows.
No patience, call an owner, jump into this with little education, fewer dollars, and you will only get out of what you put into it. Remember FEWER DOLLARS. The post had many good points I see many more fail than succeed about 99 to 1 with Phil being the exception to this rule. 3 years ago when I entered into this not a single solo that I know of is still with the same owner. There are great owners like DaveC but he is few and far between, I know of some others that are very good. Your gona do much, much better on your own than you will driving someone elses truck sharing your Profits. Too many Sharks in the Water. The math is in favor of O/O in the long term.

Re: Where did it go?
Ditto!
No matter which direction one chooses: fleet driver, company driver or owner/operator, we have no one to blame but ourselves if we do not spend some time gathering information.
The same goes for making any purchase: tires, trucks, audio equipment, tv's, computers, etc.

Re: Where did it go?
While I can completely understand the need for the Code, it was a well written, well thought out, and honest portrayal of one of the fleet owners that preys on newer expediters with impunity. And by keeping that post out of the forum will only enable the person to continue stealing, yes I said it stealing from the drivers that he has in the fleet.
Will this post be removed? I have first hand knowledge of the underhanded business practices from this fleet owner. I have personally reviewed some of his settlements and contracts.
This fleet owner needs to be outed.

Re: Where did it go?
Yes this was it intresting read, two sides to every story she in my opinion covered her bases very well. But why would two people with that much going for them get into such a ragged truck. It had to look as bad as its service record.

Re: Where did it go?
Broom, we have run into several of their drivers while on the road, and after talking to them, most seem to not have a clue. Some have handed over the pay sheets and I want to take them to the local hospital for a cat scan of the head. Most we have dealt with are not people who research much, they just jump in thinking that PII would not have a dishonest fleet owner. I don't see how PII continues to allow this blatant rip off artist to stay.

Jim,
The post was removed for one reason - new members have to particpate in our forums before bringing their disputes to our forums.
Why?
Because over time - that is all that the forum would become, the forums would suffer. The overall quality of information would diminish. Over the years we have noticed DPW's don't get involved after making their initial posts. We hope that people who have bad experiences would have a place to share that - but better yet - we hope that they would do research first. For the record – we are not “protecting sponsors” in fact there is not a single carrier, dealer, vendor, supplier on our site that has not been criticized or scrutinized on our forums, for that matter EO and our company has been criticized on these forums.
Anyone can easily post how they have been wronged. It takes a little more effort to post about how to avoid their miss-judgments or mistakes or bad experience. That is the kind of community we want at EO.
We stand by The DBP rule and believe that overtime it will help the overall quality of information, experience and networking among expediters.

Re: Where did it go?
I read the "Rip Off" report.
All "TWO" of them!
I then searched for a major expediter and I found 50 (FIFTY) negative posts about that carrier.
I also searched for a major TT carrier that has a Driver Training Program and there were over 100 (One Hundred) negative posts in regards to that carrier.
I also found no court records that indicate the fleet owner being reviewed has been found guilty of malfesance.
Just because somebody may not do the proper maintenance on their trucks (have you looked closely at some of the trucks that are owned?) does not preclude that they are guilty of illegal activities.
I am not going to risk "libel" or "slander" based on a few negative comments.
It would seem only wise and prudent to prove one's claims.
If I show up at a fleet owner's place of business, it would be my first priority to ask to look at, and drive, the truck assigned to me.
I'll be the first to agree that there are quite a few trucks in need of major repairs, but no one is forcing me to drive those trucks.
Moreover, no reputable carrier that I have had direct contact with would put such a truck into their fleet. They turn them away at orientation unless the repairs are completed.

Re: Where did it go?
Maybe it looked that bad, but maybe not - maybe it was made to look better, superficially, which might not have fooled an experienced and knowledgeable person, but we are not all that. Some of us are honest, and assume others are too, until we learn otherwise, to our own detriment. Truly dishonest and unethical people can fool a lot of innocent folks, when they want to - and sadly, they do.

Well said, and well thought-out. I don't think that it was deleted because of being a sponsor, and I applaud that. I think it was deleted for the very reason that you stated. But it just boils my blood to see this type of stuff happening to people everyday, and by the same dud. PII stand up and do something about this guy.

Re: Where did it go?
My problem with that fleet owner is more, no, way more about the money end of it.

Re: Where did it go?
I agree Cheri. They don't have to fool everybody. If a dishonest business person can fool enough people to make an easy living by taking advantage of the uninformed, that's all they need.
In alot of sales jobs, they use a 10% rule. If they talk to 100 people, they hope to be able to do business with 10 of them. I'm thinking that in the trucking industry (sadly) they may have a better %.

Re: Where did it go?
Lawrence, I think you should put this post back on here! Let people read it and judge for themselves. After all, isn't this site to help prospective 'newbies', and others looking for a "good" o/o, and inform?? Not hide things. People need to see both sides of the industry. Why let them stumble into something that will in the least ruin them financially, not to mention the safety of their (and other's) lives.
It brings up another question, Why on earth would PII even want a fleet owner be associated with them and put their decals on unsafe trucks! It will reflect on PII, not the fleet owner. The public sees the PII decals, not who owns the truck.
I think if I was driving for the 'fleet in question', with the problems they had with both trucks assigned to them I'd of made a bee-line to the closest D.O.T. and request an inspection, give them all the details!!! As for not receiving their 1099's from the company, I'd probably head for the nearest gov't. tax office I could find!!!! It appears that this couple have all the receipts, paperwork they need, hopefully they've hired a good lawyer and went after this company!!!
Sometimes ya have to fight back!!!!
Fleet owners like this have no business being involved in the trucking industry.
Geeze, I wonder why people look down on truckers??? Can't figure it out!
The post that was removed is MUST READ for ALL drivers, and o/o's............
