The Canada Side RE: Niagra Falls today including s
Yes; very nice pictures of The Falls.
The Rainbow Bridge is non commercial and I don't know the regulations or how they would interpret an empty truck. The Queenston Lewiston Bridge is a truck bridge of course and you could take Stanley Avenue back to NF Canada. There is very little vehicle access on the Canadian side of the Falls; but plenty of places to park up on Lundy's Lane (ON Hwy 20). There are shuttle buses down to the tourist areas.

Thanks Rob!
I was wishing I had your personal number on my way to Lewiston..
I asked on the CB and a driver told me to go to Greer (?)
Said there was a Fifth wheel truck stop within walking distance of the falls but being I wanted to squat a day we went to the US side.

RE: Niagra Falls today including some night pics..
sunshine to all:* great shots looks like you were on goat island. I went to an all girls school that overlooked the falls. There is a picnic, swim area called Duffern Park on the Canadian side if you ever get back. Don't remember any trucks stop in area though on either side.

Diane and I are delivering within a couple of hours of the Falls, and will have some time to spare before deadheading to our Monday pickup. The weather forcast is favorable. Do you have any truck parking info to share?

Boy, this time of the year it may be different, but, i was just there at the end of april and i parked my d unit in the lot right behind the Skylon tower. It was fantastic! not more than a few hundred yards from the fall's. I take my daughter there every year at Christmas break and spend new years eve down in Victoria's garden. I love it!

Responses here and three private responses have been great. Thank you, folks, for all of them. Our plans are not firmed up yet but it looks like tomorrow is our day to see Niagra Falls together.
The local paper today had a story about a couple that got married on the Maid of the Mist with hundreds of rain-coat-clad strangers looking on. I also got a kick out of the Skylon Tower web site. It bills the tower as "Niagra's most famous landmark." I was thinking the Falls themselves might have received a mention. You learn something new every day. :7

Mike, those pics are worthy of National Geographic - nicely done, mon.
I wasn't prepared, when I went the first time, to be impressed - it's just water falling over an edge, right? It's freakin awesome, is what it is, day or night, winter or summer, it's beautiful.
If anyone gets a room with a Jacuzzi, here's a tip: DON'T ADD BUBBLE BATH! :P

Wow Thanks for all the responses...
Sorry so long for the follow up but have been running the hardest we have ever run.
I hope next week finds us all so busy (EOM And end of 2nd quarter) that EO looks like a ghost town...
When we went we stayed at the Days Inn on Main st in Niagra (US side) they have a RV lot across the street where you can park overnight for $20 us a night or for free if you stay at the Days directly across the street.
We payed a little over $100 for the nights stay and it was comfortable. We wanted to get the Skylon Tower (see pics) in as the views are insane but time wouldn't permit (we were in desperate need of a shower and a nap)but if you have a little time to kill it only costs a dollar and all you need is a drivers license or equivalent to cross the bridge and view from the Canadian side.
Easy to get too as well just take the NY62 east (exit 22?)off of the 190 in Buffalo follow all the way till you "have to" take the truck route right going to the Falls, you will dead end at the Aquarium where you will turn left and the Days will be 1/2 mile on the right with the parking lot right across the street.
Right behind the motel is a Copter tour off the Falls for the daring
and I will get that ride next time we visit.

RE: The Canada Side RE: Niagra Falls today includi
We had a very pleasant day on Sunday on the Canadian side of the falls. If you find yourselves in the Buffalo, NY area or at the truck stops east of there on I-90, exit 48A, you are within an hour's drive.
We spent the night at Exit 48A, woke up to no alarm clocks Sunday morning, and prepared for our Monday pickup (fuel, showers, dump station, run paperwork, trip planning, etc.). With that done, we knew we could enjoy the day off.
It was an easy drive and border crossing; West I-90 to I-190, to the Peace Bridge. On Sunday morning there was no line at the border. We explained to the Canadian officer that we were crossing over as tourists and had no freight on board. We also declared our personal gear and freight handling equipment. He returned our passports and waved us through without delay. The same thing happened coming back into the U.S.
We then proceeded toward Toronto on the QEW (Queen Elizabeth Expressway) to Exit 27, turned right on McLeod Road, which is a truck route through town, turned left on Stanley Ave, and right on Robinson St, to the base of the Skylon Tower. Truck parking there was $5.00 Canadian for the day. From there, it is a short walk to the tower, the falls, and other attractions.
If you are on a budget, the costs can be limited to fuel, tolls on I-90 and truck parking. Most attractions are close enough to return to the truck mid-day to eat there if you wish.
After walking around for the afternoon and taking in the sights and some attractions, we returned to the truck, freshened up and went to the top of the tower for fine dining in the rotating restaurant. The Skylon tower observation deck is available without the meal is much less expensive. We would recommend the deck to any visitor. The views are great. The food was great too but the prices are as high as the tower (dinner for two, no drinks: $160 U.S., with tip).
Hats off to the city of Niagra Falls, Ontario, Canada. They made up-close views of the falls and a very nice public park system available to everyone without charge. Beyond that, the shopping and attractions allow you to spend as much or little as you wish.
At the falls, you will see people from all over the world that came to see what we as expediters can see with little trouble and expense if we happen to be in the area.

Wow great job Phil,
Kudos for going where no man has gone before (I knew if anyone would you would).
Great pictures!!!
Almost looks like your pics from the Space Needle in Washington?..
How much does a meal at the Skylon set an expediter back???
PS. Diane looks great.
Let me take this opportunity to bury the hatchet as I think we both strive to make the expedite experience a beneficial one to "all" involved.
Your pics are a testament to that mindset..

Okay, that's what I'm talking about. Lets start putting this info in the Layover section. Put in the same info Phil put in ie Directions, where you can park and so on. some pictures and stuff will be an added inticement(sp).
Last time I spent one hunnnndred and sixty dollars on a food bill I took more than one person with me.:) My idea of fine dinning would have to include, and would be limited to a pep. pizza. Now if you had said bar bill, I would have asked if you arrived late or had to leave early:9
