HOS update

Received news from OOIDA last night. They are asking for changes to the new HOS formally. If you value your split sleeper berth... find the docket and send a comment. My wife sent out letters to EVERYBODY and received a long reply from OOIDA. The others..Government types just passed the buck. Drivers will have to fight for this to the end I think. I'm not able to access the docket number now, but will update as soon as I can get onto my email server.

My thought is that we need to continue the split sleeper berth for both solo's and teams. I gave an example how it will essentially put many solo drivers out of business, plus many teams cannot operate safely with 10 on/10 off.

Thanks Rich. I haven't been doing this as long as you, but I HAVE enjoyed the lifestyle and the money for the last 3 years. We had planned to continue for at least two more years and finally retire to the boat. I'm afraid if the new ruling sticks, we are outta here and fast. It was a stretch to get the wife to agree to this in the first place and now... well lets just say 10 hours on and 10 hours off would lead to to divorce court, if not the morgue. I hope everyone will voice their opinion loud, clear and soon.
