Look out Fed-ex cc, TST, Panther, and all others. It's a race to see who has the most drivers sitting and for how long. Now they want one, if not two drivers for every customer they have.x( x( x(

RE: What a deal!!!
The joke about the hiring of the drivers is just an insider to those that know what is going on. I don't know much about Thompson. Most of the larger companies want to have or must have a certain number of drivers on hand to provide the service in thier contracts with customers. In this business the wheel never stops, when the frieght gets slow, the drivers quit and the companies hold off. When the frieght starts to pick back up, or if they get one or two bussy days one of the first things they will do is to hire new drivers to take the place of the ones that quit. There are a few companies in this field that dominate the industry. In my opinion all the bigger companies are the same, Working for anyone of them is like working for them all. They all have the good pionts and they all have thier bad pionts. The one thing that is the same of them all is--- If you are liked, by dispatch or management, then you are the one to get the better runs. If you give the best kick back then you get the better runs. The only differance is the name of the company.
