Sources for finding your own loads
I'm considering getting my own authority (for a "D" unit) and was wondering if anyone who is doing this could give me some ideas on how they go about finding new loads. How is your working relationship with brokers, and do you have any problems with them because of the type of truck you are running. I would also appreciate any help you could pass on as far as how you determine your rates for expedited services and for any backhaul type of loads. I would be based out of Texas, and would like to stay within the state or surrounding states.
