Oil and Filter Change Intervals
'New' Owner of a 2005 M2 106 with MBE 900 engine.
Can someone please advise me what filters need changed every 10,000 with the oil? Obviously, the primary oil and fuel filters, but what about the centrifugal filter and fuel/water seperator filter?
First time I had them changed, I erred on the side of caution and changed everything. However, the filters came with the truck. Noting how darned expensive they are, I'm thinking I may be overkilling. Also, are there NAPA comparables or replacements?
Thanks very much in advance.AJ & Myrian Johnson

Re: Oil and Filter Change Intervals
You could do some oil analysis and extend your drain intervals, that would save you some money.
There is no sense in not changing all of the oil filters, otherwise you run nice fresh oil through the old crud in the filter.
You could likely get away with not doing the water separator BUT, carry a spare with you and learn how to change it on the road yourself.
Be very careful with aftermarket filters on a Benz, If there is any warranty left I'd stick with the OE filters, at the very least I'd make sure the final fuel filter is OE.
Hope that helps.
