Re: Load Opps
I believe the plan is to eventually give us a line to type in a reason for refusing a load but they need to get that fixed ASAP, in my opinion. The idea of counter offering would make things move along.
The system worked well for us and everything seemed to happen quickly but we were accepting a load opportunity.
The only other problem I experienced was typing in the run number on the accept/refuse screen. I kept having to go back to the screen with the offer to get the number. I finally realized I need to write down the number before I leave the screen. Duh!
I have to add, though, if you don't have a spread sheet with your figures (what it takes to run your truck) this would be a good time to do so. You need to move quickly to make a decision and you need to know what it takes to have a profitable run.

Re: FECC New DIspatch System
A cheap load is a cheap load under the new system and also under the old system and we will refuse it. When a load is offered out and each truck then refuses it FedEx Custom Critical immediately knows they have to make a decision on how to cover the load. There is always that possibility that the cheap load will be sent out to the trucks and that load will be getting one truck closer to home so they jump on it instead of just dead heading.

Re: Load Opps
I had my first auto-offer via phone about 10 days ago. Had no problem except as I pushed in the number to accept, almost at the same time I had a call beep in on my cell phone. Being old and confused most of the time, I hit the end button by mistake. I was not able to beep in to see who it might have been. After about 15 min. of not hearing anything, I assumed the run had been taken by someone else. By chance I checked my status and to my surprise, I learned I was on a run! The one I had accepted. I double checked with dispatch and they confirmed I had accepted and been placed on the run. It must be if you receive the third offer and accept, they call with the confirmation before you complete the offer call. I was listening to all the options being offered at the end of the call: repeat, pay breakdown, etc. that you can punch in. It was during the portion of the call that the second call came in. Since that time all offers have came in by standard dispatch means.

Re: FECC New DIspatch System
I will still do business as usual, taking only those loads that I can make a decent profit on.
Everyone else will also follow this plan so how would FCC benefit? They will only know quicker if they can get the load covered or what the next plan of action will be.Bob & Linda
