CLamp Down On Trucks

The Ontario Provincial Police are at it again against truckers. This time it's for the month (Feb) and they are after speeding, non signalling, following too close, unsafe loading, low trie pressures, you name the problem they are looking for you to get a ticket. Mostly though it is a move to clamp down on the speeding and tailgating truckers out on the highways.

So anyone coming to Ontario this month, be on your best road driving behaviour and smile a lot. Oh yeah wash the rig before coming so you look at least like your driving a newer unit.

Washing my truck before going to Ontario and running through the snow is a lost cause . If they can in fact crackdown on those tailgaters they have my approval .

Re: CLamp Down On Trucks

Well the cops have had a hard time of it this past week and a half. So much snow coming and so many accidents they really haven't been able to get the clampdown on truckers going worth beans. Forecast says more snow coming so problem for coppers doing speed traps and looking for problems on the highways.

Last night on way back from quebec saw a trucker off the road, they closed the highway (401) eastbound. Actually saw fewer accidents than usual for such trip. Usually around kingston there are loads of vehicles off the road, but none.

Re: CLamp Down On Trucks

i hate to say this, but its true, i drive on the 401 5 days a week, and from my personal experience, 85% OF TRUCKERS are courteous and safe drivers, but the 15% of the bad drivers just ruin it for the rest of us, when in snow, or ice SLOW DOWN, how dumb can you be, just seen too many j/knifes and all sorts of stupid sensless ****.. just my 2 cents!
