Back to Canada

I didn't go into Canada at all in December . I found the trips this month to be much better . Construction on I-75 and I-94 in Michigan and the 402 in Ontario no longer causes delays . The I-94 West ramp to I-75 South ramp is closed though . I was a little irritated they didn't post signs regarding that before I passed I-696 . I called Livingston less than 3 hours after faxing my paperwork from the shipper on 2 trips and both times was told to proceed to the border .
I noticed less Canadian truckers speeding and tailgating on I-75 and found out why when I picked up a Canadian trucking magazine in Ontario . Michigan had been cracking down on Canadian truckers . They had put several of the turbaned gentlemen out of service for not being able to adequately speak and understand the English language . As in the U.S. most Canadian truckers are professionals that drive safely but even a small percentage of idiots cause pressure to be brought on all truckers .

Re: Back to Canada

Now if we could just get our cops up here to go after the idiots!!

I am amazed at the way the "gentlemen" you describe drive and the equipment they operate. And I only drive from Kitchener to Windsor once a week.

Re: Back to Canada

The Ontario Transportation Ministry thinks speed limiters is a better answer than enforcement .

Re: Back to Canada

Ya, they think that everyone is just going to let them hop into the ECM and set it at 100, good luck. Heck, Penske won't even let their own shops change the speed in their own trucks let alone some MTO doofus.
