The Last Time I Crossed into Canada was A Looooooooong Time ago, They Searched My Truck for whatever Reason and Found My Meds. The Guy told me that I was Lucky that the Meds in my "Weekly" Containers were The same as the One's in my Prescription Bottles Because I would Have been In a Lot of Trouble! Just Make sure you Take the Prescription Bottles along with you and IF You have a "Weekly" Container then Make sure that ALL of the Meds in the Container Match the Bottles.... Also it wouldn't hurt to get a Note from your Dr. Stating that he Prescribed the Meds to you and that You are Under His Care for whatever Ails You!

Make sure you have the containers that the prescription meds came in, or the receipt, info that came with your prescription(Like Walgreens gives you) loose pills in a ziplock bag or even in the weekly organizers probably will cause trouble if you don't have the orginal containers with you.
This could cause you trouble in the States too, if Law Enforcement ever searches your Vehicle. Keep your original containers that have your name on them.

DO NOT put the pills in any container other then the ones they came in. Even here in the states, keep them in what they came in. Vitamins and supplements too. The pill-a-day organizer may be alright but may not be - all depends on the mood of the officer.

Remember that ICE does not follow the same search rules as does the states LEOs do. They have the right to search every inch of your truck, including the sleeper if they suspect anything wrong or doing a spot check. They don't have to be at the border to pull an inspection either, they do pull inspections on trucks approaching the bridge on the freeways and side streets here in Detroit, even have right on the bridge approach before you get to the booths.

But chances are you won't ever go through an extensive search unless you are an idiot and challenge the nice person in the booth.

By the way don't even try to do the pill switch with Tylenol One pain pills, that can get you into a lot of trouble - even your truck taken with the load on it.

Canada is a foreign country with their own set of rules.

Greg; What do you mean by pill swap? Putting prescription pills in Tylenol bottle? Jerry Lee

    Re: Meds

Nope, buying a bottle of Tylenol One (acetaminophen, codeine, and caffeine) in Canada and sticking in a aspirin or prescription bottle to get them over the border.

The will take your truck for that move and arrest you for it.

As stupid as it is, the Canadians don't seem to have an abuse problem with the drug, I know there is a lot of heroin use and other heavy drugs but not Tylenol One abuse but again in the last couple weeks I am thinking that many of the Canadian drivers shopping here are on drugs (passing on off ramps, traveling on the shoulder, passing people using exit lanes and so on). We should be able to get it here but don't. I don't think you can get a script for it here.

I wounder if they have a current edition of the PDR? Physician Desk Referance.

This book is about 4" thick and contains a complete discription of each and every pill manufactured by all manufactures in the USA, including color photos of actual pill size.

    Why should they?

They are not medical professionals and I don't want them to act as they are - even if they have EMT training.

    By the way, good suggestion.
