    Driving Record

    I have a two year old ticket on my record---Speeding in Excess of 80 mph--Reckless Driving--on my motorcycle. I have a Class A CDL. Every company I've spoken to as far as OTR T/T companies has told me to call back in 3 years. Are there any expedite companies that would take me now, two years since that ticket, as an O/O or driver? It is the only ticket I've received in 8 years.I know this is unlikely, but I thought I'd ask.

    Cool Re: Driving Record

    Tim;

    I see this more and more. Folks are unaware of the Driver Disqualification regulations. They get a major moving violation like this (Speed in excess of 15 mph or greater) and do not realize that when they apply for a driving position (employment) chances are they will be denied due to the violation, even though the violation occurred in a personal vehicle.

    Even if you do not possess a CDL, or lose your license for one of these violations, chances are the insurance company that insures the Carrier (Trucking Company) you drive for, or wish to drive for, will be unable to insure you due to the violation.

    Below is the link to regulations on FMCSA regarding these offenses.

    Part 383.51: Disqualification of drivers. - Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration

    Also keep in mind that with the implementation of CSA 2010, carriers will be able to see any and all violations discovered in roadside inspections, on every driver, from every state.

    Just because the speedo on that Hyabusa goes upto 185 and beyond does not mean you should see if it'll do it! At least it sounds like you kept the "shiny side up".

    Good luck with your job search.

    Thanks,
